New Patron for CRASH - Bauder

We are very pleased to announce that Bauder Limited recently joined us as CRASH Patrons. Bauder is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of waterproofing membranes and has over 150 years of experience and expertise in the roofing industry. CRASH would like to say a very warm welcome to the whole team - we are thrilled to have you on board!

MD of Bauder, Andrew Mackenzie, said:
"At Bauder we recognise that CRASH is an unusual charity in that it has an extremely high participative element with many individuals and company’s delivering not only financial support, but professional skills and construction materials, as well as their hard work.

We all wanted to get as involved with the charitable work as possible and by becoming a Patron of CRASH and by working with like-minded businesses, we feel we can do this and make a real difference to homeless people in the UK."

Although they only officially became a Patron of CRASH in October of 2008, Bauder have already set their fundraising wheels in motion undertaking a marathon cycling challenge in aid of CRASH, The Alzheimer’s Society in Ireland and the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich. Over 50 staff members took part, pedaling their way from Bauder’s Irish offices in Carrickmacross to their UK HQ in Ipswich where cyclists from the final stage of the challenge were welcomed with live jazz and a well-earned celebration!

Covering a vast 450 miles in a relay spread over seven days, each team of both riders and support drivers made a journey of up to 80 miles each day. As well as collecting sponsorship pledges for the challenge, the teams collected additional donations en route at rest stops and in total raised a magnificent £16,000 which has been split between the three beneficiary charities. CRASH is incredibly grateful to everyone at Bauder and we would like to say a big thank you for the generous £7,500 kindly donated to us from this event.
