In 2008 Mansell employees were set the challenge of a lifetime by Managing Director Steve Waite; to raise a million pounds for charity in just 12 months to mark Mansell’s centenary year.

Not ones to shy away from a challenge, Mansell employees soon kicked their fundraising gears into high speed and an array of sporting and social events were planned and executed throughout 2008. The highlight of Mansell’s mammoth fundraising efforts took the form of an inter-office relay using a pedal-powered rickshaw, converted into a Roman Chariot, which was cycled 1,300 miles between Mansell offices by over 300 dedicated Mansell employees.

Raising £1 million in just one year is a tough gauntlet to lay down but Mansell pulled together and proved themselves more than up for the challenge, surpassing their target to raise an outstanding total of £1,016,000!

CRASH is very lucky to have been chosen as one of the charities to benefit from Mansell’s extraordinary fundraising achievements and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mansell for their very generous £21,365 donation.
