The Grosvenor House Hotel came alive to Baggy Trousers and other Madness classics on the 24th October 2009 for the annual NMBS Dinner Dance.
The evening got underway with an exquisite three course meal with the added surprise of the waiters bursting into operatic song.
A generous raffle prize of a Samsung LED TV was offered by Makita and those who donated in the charity envelopes stood a chance of winning it. £2540.50 went to CRASH from this, which will be put towards a project in Stockton-on Tees, where homeless people are part of a team that are renovating a previously unused house into flats. Those taking part will learn skills for future employment and are also providing accommodation for themselves and other homeless people. CRASH are incredibly grateful to NMBS for their continued support and for this very generous donation.
Following the meal the dance floor became a glittering, swirling mesh of colours as everyone danced along to their favourite Madness songs.
NMBS Managing Director, Chris Hayward gives his thoughts on the evening: ‘The strength of independents is in demonstrating that “Dunkirk spirit” and proving that whatever the adversity and struggles of the last year, that we must always find the time to get together, relax and enjoy each other’s company and what better occasion could there be than the NMBS Dinner Dance”.
Be sure to join us next year on the 23rd October for what is sure to be another unforgettable evening.
