CRASH was approached by Framework and the Nomad Trust for assistance with supporting their development of a new, purpose built centre, offering accommodation and training facilities for homeless and vulnerable people in Lincoln.
Framework owns and manages the centre, delivering the service in partnership with the Nomad Trust - a small, local provider with extensive experience of providing front-line services to vulnerable people in Lincoln.
The aim of the new accommodation service is to enable people to live independently. This is done through a programme of support which addresses the individual reasons that have caused a person to become homeless and to ensure those same issues don't reoccur in the future.
As well as support around specific problems, each accommodation service works with people to help them develop independent living skills, such as managing money and debt, cooking and maintaining a property.
As a result of the application, CRASH gave the Nomad Centre a cash grant of £15,000 to go towards equipping the new catering kitchen. A fully equipped catering kitchen with servery and dining area will help to ensure that homeless and vulnerable people can access regular hot meals in a safe and comfortable environment.
Phil Collins, Interim Asset and Development Manager at the Nomad Centre says that “CRASH clearly has a strong network of patron companies and understands the challenges involved in developing new and improved facilities for homeless and vulnerable people.”
