FREE charity parachute jumps

CRASH is seeking adventurous people across the UK to experience the thrill of a lifetime and at the same time raise funds for CRASH, by undertaking an exhilarating parachute jump! No experience is needed!

There are three different jumps to choose from:

  • 10,000 ft tandem skydive — Strapped to a professional instructor, you will get the chance to freefall at up to 120 mph!
  • 3,000 ft static line jump — Train over two days and put yourself in total control as you learn parachuting from heights of up to 3,000 ft. You will be securely attached to a 'static line' which is designed to automatically open your parachute for you.
  • Accelerated freefall 10,000 ft solo skydive (AFF) — The first part of a professional skydiving course, the accelerated freefall skydive will see you jump from 2 miles high with two highly experienced skydiving instructors by your side, and then you get to enjoy the tranquillity of riding under your canopy, parachuting to the ground before landing SOLO — the ultimate skydiving experience!

To jump for FREE, we ask you to raise the minimum amount of sponsorship money from which CRASH will receive an average donation of £140 (for example a tandem skydive is £395). In addition, any money raised over the minimum amount goes directly to CRASH – so please try to raise as much as you possibly can!

The jumps are available throughout the year at over 20 skydiving centres across the country, that are approved by British Parachute Association.

Tamsin Virdi (Davis Langdon) at 12,000ft!

Most recently signed up for a tandem skydive are Terri Filkins and Petra Salva, both from Thames Reach - one of the leading homelessness charities. We wish them the best of luck!

We have now had several people undertake a skydive for CRASH and all reported having had the experience of their lives!

Michael Parker from Carillion was our first brave parachutist quickly followed by Tony Longworth (Flowcrete), Rebecca Dymond,Greg Hilton, Simon Hall (Mace),and Oliver Muldoon (Bank of America). Amanda Lewis, Julia Middleton and Sarah Roe also successfully completed their tandem skydive. After their jump Julia reported: "We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it to others". The intrepid trio raised the fantastic sum of £2,030.

Several members of Patron company Davis Langdon have taken the plunge: Stefan Eriksson, Majed Itani, Tamsin Virdi and Maria Grisolia. Tamsin enthused: "The sky was so clear at 12,000ft you could see France!"

Our most recent, and most daring parachutists, were three young men from Wates Living Space who undertook the ultimate experience - an accelerated freefall at 10,000ft. Gareth Barrett, Stefan Borowik and Paul Rosser all completed the jump after several delays for bad weather but they all agreed it was worth the wait! They also raised over £2,000 for homelessness projects around the country.

We hope you will decide to take up the challenge and help us raise some funds. And at the same time, you will have the time of your life doing it!!

You can do this [off-site] online, or if you need further info, contact CRASH for a pack.

The ultimate gift?

If parachuting is not your cup of tea but you know someone who would love the challenge, then how about buying it as a surprise birthday present instead?!
