We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces as well as new ones at the 2008 Windsor Half Marathon and we are, as always, incredibly grateful for the support we receive at this event. Over £41,000 was donated to CRASH through sponsorship and a portion of the entry fees and we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and generous donations.
In the picturesque surroundings of the Windsor Great Park on Sunday 21st September 2008, over 4,300 people donned their running shoes to take part in the 26th annual Windsor Half Marathon. Blue skies and a hot sun beating down made for a beautiful day for us spectators but did make it tough for many runners who, in the predictable un-predictable British weather spent the weeks leading up to the race battling the rain during training sessions. However, that didn't seem to put too many runners off their strides and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves as they navigated the 13 (approx) mile course.
The 2008 course had been altered slightly from previous years so that the entire course was run within the Great Park. This new course, although still undulating was no-where near as hilly; it consisted of one inner lap of approx 4 miles, a larger lap of approx 7.5 miles and a start & finish of 1.5 miles on the Long Walk as with previous years.

This incredible donation to CRASH was presented to CRASH Chief Executive Francesca Roberts at the Windsor Half Marathon 2008 presentation of Awards and Charity Donations, which was held at The Guildhall in Windsor on Tuesday 25th November. The Worshipful Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead also presented the following awards:
