The Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenges, organised by Gable Events and supported by Media Partner Building, are major fundraising events for CRASH. We’d like to thank everyone who took part in the Manchester, London and (new for this year) Cardiff events; it was great to see so many of you clearly having fun while at the same time raising much-needed donations for CRASH.
Each of the events had a slightly different feel and layout, but the same thread of enjoyment, excitement and competition wove consistently between all three. Organisers Gable Events did a fantastic job of ensuring each and every person was well looked after, kept safe in (and occasionally out!) of the boats and ended their challenge day on a high wherever they were placed in the final scores.
We’re delighted that additional sponsorship raised by a number of teams and a donation from crew entry fees by Gable Events, the three events raised a total of over £33,833 for CRASH; a fantastic amount, particularly in the current climate. Special thanks go to BAM Construction who raised £2,985, the highest amount of additional sponsorship for the Manchester event, and RedSky IT who raised £1,500, the highest amount of additional sponsorship for the London event. Both crews won the charity challenge award and a sumptuous Chinese banquet for their team courtesy of the Yang Sing restaurant in Manchester and a prize voucher of £200 for London generously sponsored by Encon Insulation.
