Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our 2009 Red Friday event on the 8th May, we had a great response from companies across the UK and very enthusiastic feedback about the day, particularly to our Red Friday fundraising pack which was new for this year. From the emails and photos we received post-event it looks as if everyone had a fantastic time doing their bit to raise donations for CRASH and we’re particularly grateful to those people in each office who took the time to organise events and encourage colleagues to join in.
Also new for this year was our ‘Best Idea’ competition to see who could come up with the best Red Friday fundraising idea and we were delighted to see everyone so enthusiastically rising to this challenge!
There were some brilliant ideas and I’d like to make special mention of two companies who were on our short-list but just pipped to the winning post; these are TH Associates who held a bingo game where all the consultants had to complete a certain line of tasks or donate to CRASH, and Contract Scotland who raised money throughout the day and into the evening with various activities including a “blind raffle” where all the prizes were wrapped in red, a bake sale, a bring & buy stall and a games night with buffet.
But the winner of the 2009 ‘Best Red Friday Fundraising Idea’ competition has been awarded to….(imagine a drum roll here please!)….the Edinburgh office of Davis Langdon! A group from this creative office made a visit to their local blood donor centre to donate blood having first made a donation for Red Friday, thereby not only wearing red on the day but giving red too! We are so impressed that they not only supported CRASH and homeless people by raising sponsorship for us, but did some inspiring lateral thinking and benefitted the wider community too. Other staff members made a donation to take part in their Red Friday quiz or simply made a donation to CRASH. Congratulations to the Davis Langdon Edinburgh office and we hope you enjoy your prize of £50 M&S vouchers!
