Sir John Armitt Joins Lively Debate at Patron Forum

Sir John Armitt joined the lively debate at CRASH’s Patron Forum earlier this week sharing some of his Construction industry insights with members.

Hosted on this occasion by City & Guilds the Forum, which is exclusively for CRASH Patrons, covered a wide range of issues relating to the industry as well as community and employee engagement, CSR, Volunteering etc.

City & Guilds’ Matt Simmons gave an informative presentation which led to an animated discussion about Construction Sector Skills, 14-19 Apprenticeships as well as Apprenticeship reforms and the new Apprenticeship Levy.

Matt was followed by Mike Cobb and Simon Major from fellow Patron Dulux Trade who demonstrated how their support of CRASH not only helped their company take the top spot in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, it also provides opportunities for employee engagement that result in business benefits.

CDI AndersElite’s Emily Horton and British Gypsum’s Royston Brooks-Lewis both gave superb presentations outlining their support of homeless and hospice projects and how they inspire their colleagues to get fully involved.

“The breadth of knowledge and skills amongst CRASH Patron companies as well as their commitment to helping those who are homeless or receiving care in a hospice is outstanding. This Forum is an excellent example of how professional skills and altruism combined make a real difference to so many people’s lives.”
