The Bridge Project is a day centre for homeless and vulnerable people, many of whom suffer from drug and alcohol related addictions.
The Bridge Project aims to;
- Offer help and support to all in need of care.
- Offer a person-centered opportunity for everyone to seek and work out their potential.
- Offer targeted opportunities and development programmes that will help redefine and rebuild lives and lifestyles.
The centre offers a number of services, ranging from the basic requirements such as meals, shower & toilet facilities, laundry and clothing, to longer-term solutions and help in the form of training courses (computer and basic life skills), a resettlement programme, a life-long learning educational programme and counselling for drug and alcohol addictions. Currently, The Bridge Project helps an average of 1,100 people every month.
How CRASH helped
CRASH received a request for refurbishment assistance from The Bridge Project; the flooring of their canteen was worn through after five years of constant use and the kitchen had no air-conditioning, only an inadequate extraction fan, making working conditions very unpleasant.
CRASH was happy to help The Bridge Project and pledged a cash grant of £4,700 towards refurbishments.

Fiona Okbi, Bridge Project Manager:
“We are especially grateful for the air conditioning as the volunteers
are already finding it really warm and are not looking forward to the
weather improving as it becomes like a sauna in the kitchen”
