CRASH Newsletter: September 2024
Proud to be part of CRASH – Our Corporate Patrons’ Forum
The CRASH Corporate Patron’s Forum was kindly hosted by Beale & Co at their London offices and exclusively welcomed our Corporate Patrons to come together, meet each other and hear about the incredible impact of their support from two of the charities we have supported together.
Trisha Pickersgill, Director of Finance and Facilities at Rennie Grove Hospice Care and Sofia Barbosa, Head of Development at Emmaus South Lambeth spoke openly about their roles in the hospice and homelessness sectors respectively.
Within the last year, CRASH helped Rennie Grove hospice care with a major refurbishment, completely transforming their building and creating a peaceful, open and bright space for staff and people with life-limiting illnesses. Trisha spoke of the joy and precious memories created in the new beautiful spaces.
More recently, CRASH supported homelessness charity Emmaus South Lambeth by transforming a 6-bedroom house into a home for 11 formerly homeless men and women. Emmaus provides homeless men and women with a home, purposeful work and the chance to rebuild their lives in a safe and supportive community for as long as they need it.
Both Trisha and Sofia gave incredible insight to the challenges they face every day, the misconceptions about their sectors and what fuels their passion for helping people when they’re most in need of care.
Guests also heard about the importance of fundraising for our work with homelessness charities and hospices. CRASH gives small cash grants to projects where we are helping with professional expertise and products, and company led fundraising is vital to continue our life changing work.
The opportunities to fundraise are endless! Companies can think up a quirky idea or add a charity element to something already planned, the important part is having fun whilst supporting your industry charity.
Guests heard from Chia Oh, about how VolkerFitzpatrick have used fundraising to engage employees and their supply chain through their annual Golf Day and a lockdown football competition. Ellie Eastwood from hosts Beale & Co spoke about their involvement with volunteering to help with donation collections and how much their team enjoyed taking part in The BIG March.
It was a fantastic morning, and an important opportunity for the CRASH team to thank our Corporate Patrons for the invaluable difference they make by sharing the best of themselves and their expertise, products and donations with CRASH.
