Help CRASH by harnessing the power of the picnic to support vulnerable people
1. Can you Picnic for CRASH?
Let’s harness the power of the picnic and help homeless people, and children and adults who need hospice care.
#picnicforCRASH is an opportunity for construction and property companies to unite for an industry-wide summer fundraiser in aid of your industry charity, CRASH.
It’s easy to take part! Pick a date, time, and location, set up your fundraising page and ask colleagues, clients and your families to donate to attend. Each donation means CRASH can continue to help homelessness charities and hospices by constructing and refurbishing the buildings they so desperately need.
2. Emmaus North East’s new Stanhope Road property provides hope for an additional five formerly homeless people thanks to CRASH’s help
Emmaus North East was the first Emmaus community in the North East of England. At the time they approached CRASH they were at capacity and had a long waiting list of people who would like to join.
CRASH, alongside its Corporate Patrons and supporters remodel the newly purchased property into three additional rooms and a self-contained flat with two bedrooms for Companions who are preparing for independent living. Increasing Emmaus North East’s capacity from 15-20 Companions.
“Since moving into 255 Stanhope Road, it feels like I have more independence. It’s a great way to adjust to ‘move-on’ and I greatly appreciate being trusted to live in a room with more independence.”

3. The Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge in aid of CRASH, returns with a splash
The Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge returned for a 22nd year, bringing together over 360 people from the construction industry to support CRASH. In teams of 11, crews took to the water at West Reservoir in London, to paddle against each other with the hopes of being crowned 2022 champions.
The final was evenly matched with only 1 second separating 4th from 1st place. A huge congratulations to Parkeray who on their first year taking part clinched the victory, celebrating with gold medals and a champagne shower.
4. Teamwork makes the fundraising dream work
Throughout May, CRASH Corporate Patrons have been busy fundraising to support our work with homelessness charities and hospices. Here’s a few highlights of their creative ideas to inspire your next team fundraising activity:
You and your company can also play a huge part in constructing places that care for people by organising or joining a CRASH fundraiser this year. Whether it’s a #picnicforCRASH or something you already have planned, the fundraising team would love to hear from you.
