CRASH patrons Taylor Wimpey and Linden Homes (GallifordTry) gained well deserved recognition at Building Awards 2012.
The prestigious event, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, celebrated the ‘best-in-class’ companies, individuals and projects across the Built Environment.
Although he was in training for the London Marathon (raising money for homeless charity Centrepoint) Taylor Wimpey’s Pete Redfern took time out of his schedule to accept his award for Chief Executive of the Year. Pete Redfern was appointed as a Director of Taylor Wimpey plc and to the post of Group Chief Executive in July 2007 following the merger George Wimpey and Taylor Wimpey.
Fellow CRASH patron Linden Homes (part of GallifordTry) scooped the coveted title of Housebuilder of the Year adding more silver to their trophy cabinet. Group managing director Ian Baker picked up the prize after judges from Building magazine praised the company for its “remarkable step change in performance” and “incredibly focused” team.
Speaking about the 2012 awards, Tom Broughton, brand director Building Magazine said,“We salute the individuals and personalities that make it all happen and drive success, from the inspirational leadership of chief executives successfully navigating troubled waters, to the investment and commitment in training and positive cultures – in companies of all sizes – that is required to drive growth.”
