Children’s Hospice can now help more children and their families
CRASH helps St Catherines Hospice
CRASH is thrilled to announce that the new car park at St Catherine’s Hospice is complete thanks to CRASH Patrons, led by Arcadis and Hanson.
Over the course of the last year, St Catherine’s Hospice cared for around 2,000 adults living with terminal illness in Sussex and Surrey as well as their families and carers.
The need
The car park was suffering from potholes and a rough surface, making it difficult for patients and visitors with mobility difficulties to use safely and comfortably.
How CRASH Patrons helped
CRASH Patron companies Arcadis and Hanson generously provided professional expertise and building materials free of charge, which saved the charity money and delivered a fantastic new car park.
- £8,022 of assistance from CRASH Corporate Patrons donating professional services and discounted construction products.
- £10,000 cash grant from CRASH, bringing the total value of support to £18,022
Before & After:
The Impact
“I used to work as a Health and Safety Manager and the new surface means people who have difficulty walking can now walk across the car park with ease, with or without a frame. The risk of them tripping is now quite small as there are no potholes.”

‘‘The ability to receive pro bono advice from specialist partners was invaluable. We are delighted to have received the support for our project from CRASH, as without this it may not have been possible to proceed. The process was very straightforward and the additional advice they arranged helped to formulate our ideas for the project.’’
