Children’s Hospice can now help more children and their families
CRASH helps to create a much-needed family bedroom for a children’s hospice in London
CRASH has created an additional bedroom at Richard House Children’s Hospice. This will allow children with life-limiting conditions to stay and receive 24-hour palliative care, whilst remaining close to their parents and families.
Richard House Children’s Hospice provide specialist care for babies, children and young adults who have life shortening or complex health conditions such as heart failure, muscular dystrophy and cancer as well as offering dedicated support to their families.
The need
The hospice applied to CRASH to help create a much-needed 5th bedroom to increase their Step-Down Care, which is the training families receive so they can confidently care for their child at home. The room also provides increased privacy for families when their child is receiving end of life care.
How CRASH Patrons helped
CRASH Patrons 8build, Arcadis, British Gypsum, Dulux Trade and Knauf Insulation generously donated their professional skills and materials to create the new bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
- £15,460 of assistance from CRASH Corporate Patrons and supporting companies donating professional services and discounted construction products.
- £7,000 grant awarded by CRASH bringing the total value of support to £22,460.
