Teams from across the construction industry take part in CRASH Sailing Regatta

On Friday 4th July, the CRASH Sailing Regatta returned to the Solent for a thrilling day of yacht racing, team building, and industry networking – all in aid of CRASH, the construction industry’s charity. Hosted aboard Prometheus Sailing and Sunsail’s fleet, the event raised an impressive £3,600 to help homelessness charities and hospices with vital construction projects.

Seven teams from across the construction and property sector took to the water, representing companies including Cundall, PHP, CS2 Ltd, Scotch Partners and others. After two competitive races, Corporate Patron Cundall emerged as the overall winner, followed closely by PHP Team 2 and CS2 Team 2, who rounded out the top three.

CRASH was generously gifted a boat for the event, giving a team of Trustees, Patrons, and longstanding supporters the chance to sail and represent the charity on the water. We sincerely thank Ian Bolster, CRASH Deputy Chairman from Deerns; Nathan Modell, CRASH Trustee from Beale & Co; Andrew Lee and Ann Coop from JNP Group; Suzie Ellis from Galliford Try; Patrick Cantellow from Knauf Drywall; and Paul Hewes from Areen Design for their enthusiastic participation and support.

The Sailing Cup continues to be a favourite in CRASH’s annual calendar, offering professionals a unique opportunity to connect with peers, challenge themselves, and directly support the creation of safe, dignified spaces for vulnerable people. With each team’s entry fee including a donation to CRASH, participants not only competed for glory but also helped build places that care for people.

A huge thank you to Prometheus Sailing, part of Sunsail UK, for their continued partnership and support. We’re already looking forward to the 2026 Construction Industry Sailing Cup and welcoming more teams aboard for another fantastic day.
