CRASH and volunteers return to The Concrete Society Awards
Staff gathered outside the hospices new accessible entrance, as ribbons were cut and Barbara-Anne Walker, Chief Executive at Ashgate Hospice explained the difference the entrance and courtyard have made to the people of North Derbyshire.
Patients and their loved ones can all now enter the building in dignity and comfort, enabling them to reserve their energy and focus for getting the support they need; and the lovely courtyard complete with a beautiful hand painted mural can be enjoyed by everyone who visits and works at Ashgate Hospice. CRASH and Corporate Patrons have now helped Ashgate Hospice undergo two projects. In 2019, CRASH helped transform their cramped in-patient unit into nine individual private and peaceful rooms for patients and loved ones – read the CRASH case study here. And more recently creating the new entrance area that gives direct and independent access to all. These two projects have made a huge difference to the lives of people receiving hospice care and the loved ones who visit them.
