Celebrating 30 Years of Construction News & CRASH at the Construction News Awards 2026

CRASH was delighted to once again be the charity partner at this year’s Construction News Awards – making the occasion even more special as both Construction News and CRASH celebrated their 30th anniversaries this year. On Thursday 9th of July, more than 1,200 of the construction industry’s leading professionals gathered at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London to celebrate three decades of excellence, recognise outstanding achievements across the sector, and support the vital work of CRASH.

The evening began with a drinks reception, bringing together colleagues, clients and industry partners from across the construction sector for an unforgettable night of celebration, networking and fundraising.

Trisha Pickersgill, Chief Executive of CRASH was joined at our table by John O’Grady – CRASH Chair of Trustees and Global Commercial Director at Glencar, Joanne Smith – CRASH Treasurer and Senior Enabling Functions Business Partner at Arcadis, Dean O’Sullivan – CEO at Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland , Richard Whitehead – Chief Executive Europe and India at AECOM, Niklaus Lunow – Chief Operating Officer at Areen Design, Jamie Rickard – Pre-construction Director at Arte Construction, Jon Crank – Pre Contract Director at NG Bailey, Andrew Roser – Commercial Growth Leader at AkzoNobel and Lyndon Pickersgill – Atos. We were delighted to share the evening with such valued supporters of CRASH and thank them for their ongoing commitment to our work.

Following a delicious three-course dinner, the hilarious Rory Bremner took to the stage, bringing his signature impressions and wit to the evening’s proceedings. He kept the audience entertained before revealing this year’s award winners, celebrating excellence across the sector. From recognising cutting-edge innovation and rising industry stars to celebrating standout projects shaping the future of construction, the awards highlighted the breadth of talent, dedication and innovation across the industry.

CRASH was also proud to play a role in the evening’s presentations. CRASH Trustee Ian Bolster had the honour of presenting the Project of the Year (Under £20m) award to Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, while CRASH Chief Executive Trisha Pickersgill presented the Project of the Year (£20m–£50m) award to VolkerStevin.

CRASH extends its heartfelt congratulations to all winners and finalists, particularly our Corporate Patrons Kilnbridge, winners of the Carbon Reduction Champion Award, Galliford Try, winners of the Low Carbon Project of the Year Award, and AECOM, who were Highly Commended in the Community Engagement Project of the Year category.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of guests throughout the evening, the event raised just over £10,000 for CRASH. These vital funds will directly support our mission to create places that care for adults experiencing homelessness, and children and adults receiving hospice care, ensuring they have access to safe, dignified and welcoming environments when they need them most.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Construction News for their continued partnership and long-standing support of CRASH. In particular, thank you to Colin Marrs and Will Botting for their support, dedication and organisation of such a fantastic event.

A huge thank you also goes to our incredible team of volunteers from our Corporate Patrons, whose enthusiasm and commitment helped make the fundraising activities possible throughout the evening. We are immensely grateful for your time, energy and support.
