Celebrating Hospice Care Week and World Homelessness Day

This October, CRASH celebrated Hospice Care Week and World Homelessness Day with a social media campaign showcasing some of the fantastic charities we support with building projects to improve outcomes for children and adults needing hospice care and adults experiencing homelessness.

Hospice Care Week

Hospice Care Week is a chance for all of us to champion hospice care nationwide and applaud the incredible work done to ensure everyone can benefit from the very best end of life care. Our campaign featured the following:

  • Ashgate Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to the people of North Derbyshire, helping to improve patients’ lives after diagnosis when every day is precious. CRASH Corporate Patrons Arcadis, British Gypsum, Dulux, Geberit and Knauf are supporting the project.
  • Bury Hospice supports over 2,000 patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness annually. The hospice provides inpatient services, hospice-at-home care, bereavement support, a phlebotomy clinic, and chemotherapy. CRASH Corporate Patrons Arcadis, AECOM, BAM, Heidelberg Materials & NG Bailey, and supporters Marshalls are working on the project.
  • The Shakespeare Hospice offers specialised care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses across South Warwickshire. It supports 1,000 patients yearly, partly through its day hospice facilities, for patients, carers, and recently bereaved loved ones. CRASH Corporate Patrons Arcadis, Areen Design and NG Bailey are supporting the project.
  • St. Christopher’s Hospice cares for over 4,000 patients a year and offers world-class palliative and end of life care to everyone who needs it across five south London boroughs. CRASH Corporate Patrons Gardiner & Theobald LLP & London Building Control and supporters Black Architecture are working on the project.

World Homeless Day

World Homeless Day is observed internationally on the 10th of October every year. This international day aims to raise awareness about the needs of people who currently experience homelessness and promote work in local communities to alleviate suffering and prevent death. Our campaign featured the following:

  • Kairos Community Trust is a London-based homelessness charity for adults in recovery from substance misuse. CRASH Corporate Patrons Arcadis & London Building Control and supporters Black Architecture are working on the project.
  • St Wilfrid’s Centre in Sheffield provides practical help and support to over 170 homeless and vulnerable people. The centre provides welfare support as well as group and educational activities. CRASH Corporate Patron Arcadis and London Building Control are supporting the projects with professional expertise.
  • Emmaus Merseyside is a homelessness charity that offers a home, individual support, education, training, and work to people who have experienced homelessness. CRASH Corporate Patrons Arcadis, BAM, Galliford Try, Knauf, London Building Control and Reds10, who designed and supplied modular units, supported this project.
