CRASH delighted to return to the CPA Autumn Lunch as charity partner
Construction News Awards supports CRASH for sixteenth consecutive year
The iconic Construction News Awards returned to the Grosvenor House Hotel this July, supporting industry charity CRASH for its sixteenth consecutive year.
The 1,200 guests from across the construction industry took a moment to pause as Francesca Roberts, Chief Executive of CRASH gave a captivating speech about the charity. Following a three-course dinner, TV personality and presenter Claudia Winkelman began announcing the 23 award categories, accompanied by voice over from Marcus Bentley, best known for his role as the ‘voice’ of Big Brother.
Thank you to guests who donated so generously raising an amazing £11,880.65 for CRASH and ultimately helping homelessness charities and hospices with their vital construction projects.
CRASH would like to extend a big congratulations to those who picked up awards on the night including Tej Bahia of Corporate Patron Arcadis, who was crowned the ‘Construction Leader of the Year’, VolkerWessels UK (sister company of VolkerFitzpatrick) who picked up the ‘Digital Construction Excellence’ award and lastly Corporate Patron Reds10 who scooped up the highly anticipated ‘Contractor of the Year (turnover under 500m)’.
The CRASH team could not have collected donations without the wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help. A huge thank you to James, Matt, Deen, Christine, Karon, Chia, Michelle, Nicola, Karen and Sonya from Corporate Patrons AECOM, Beale & Co, NG Bailey, VolkerFitzpatrick and Supporter Buro Happold.
“It was a pleasure and an honour to once again welcome CRASH as the charity partner for the Construction News Awards. Our relationship with CRASH is one that we treasure – the charity does incredible work for the most vulnerable in our society and helps construction firms put even more into society than they already do. Francesca’s speech at the ceremony was, as always, incredibly moving and the 1,200 people in the room were rapt as she spoke.”
