Going above and beyond this Christmas: 13 Corporate Patrons and 1 CRASH supporter donate washbags

13 Corporate Patrons and 1 CRASH Supporter put together and donated thousands of washbags for people experiencing homelessness and children and adults in hospice care. CRASH’s washbag initiative aims to support homelessness charities and hospices with essential toiletry items – by pairing our Corporate Patrons with charities local to them so that they can create and donate bags for the people each charity supports.

This year, an amazing 31 homelessness charities and one hospice received ‘washbags’ from our Corporate Patrons. The bags included various items; soap, toothbrushes, socks, shower gel, hand cream and gloves with some companies generously donating additional items such as winter coats and other warm clothing. CRASH Supporter Trading Technologies also collated bags alongside Corporate Patrons.

BAM collated washbags for Rennie Grove Hospice based in St Albans – where they were able to use the gifts for their day hospice.

The initiative supported charities across the UK; from Edinburgh (Edinburgh Cyrenians) to Kent (Kenward Trust), as well as homelessness charities Emmaus Merseyside, Julian House in Bath, The Manna in London, Emmaus Suffolk, and many more.

The CRASH Team were able to attend some of the charities whilst the bags were being dropped off and see first-hand the impact of these thoughtful donations, as well as enjoy meeting some more of our Corporate Patrons.

We are so grateful to our Corporate Patrons for their generosity and kindness this festive season; a huge thank you to 8build, ACO Technologies, AECOM, Arcadis, BAM, Beale & Co, British Gypsum, Dalkia EDF Group, Dulux Decorator Centre, Geberit, Hilti, NG Bailey, Taylor Wimpey, and CRASH Supporter Trading Technologies.

A special mention to Taylor Wimpey for supporting this initiative with an amazing 3,158 washbags across 24 regional business units – an incredible amount which will make a huge difference to so many people experiencing homelessness this Christmas.

8build, Beale & Co, and Dalkia EDF Group also supported multiple charities, it’s wonderful to see how many colleagues at our Corporate Patrons were keen to get involved in Christmas giving!
