YPiC Quiz 2025 raises an incredible £3,600 for CRASH
The Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge returned for a 22nd year, bringing together over 360 men and women from the construction industry to support CRASH. In teams of 11, crews took to the water at West Reservoir in London, to paddle against each other with the hopes of being crowned 2022 champions.
The final was evenly matched with only 1 second separating 4th from 1st place. A huge congratulations to Parkeray who in their first year taking part clinched the victory, celebrating with gold medals and a champagne shower.
Whether they received a trophy or not, everyone was a winner for coming together to raise vital funds for our construction projects helping homelessness charities and hospices. Together, the teams raised over £17,600 through entry donations, a raffle and fundraising.
‘’We were delighted to take part in the Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge! It was such a fun day and a great event to come together to fundraise for CRASH as an industry. Although it was amazing to come first place in the challenge, we were even more thrilled to have fundraised the highest amount for charity. We’re looking forward to continuing our support for CRASH events and fundraising for the valuable social impact projects they deliver.’’

The afternoon is a unique team-building opportunity and a brilliant way to welcome new starters, integrate teams and engage employees whilst supporting the construction industry’s charity. The sun came out and the buzzing atmosphere made it one of the best years yet!
Alongside the dragon boat racing, CRASH hosted a charity raffle with prizes generously donated by Corporate Patron’s AECOM, Dulux, Imtech, Galliford Try and supporters The Snow Centre, St Pauls, Sipsmith and Tribuild Solutions. Volunteers from Corporate Patron Beale & Co helped with raffle ticket sales on the day.
We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of teams who made additional entry contributions – Platinum crews; Amodal Limited, Canary Wharf Contractors, Conisbee, Howden Insurance Brokers, Newforma UK Ltd, Overbury and Premier crews 8build, AECOM, AIS, Blenheim House Construction, Connect Plus (M25) Ltd, John Rowan and Partners, NG Bailey and Parkeray.
‘’It was fantastic to see so many corners of the industry come together to support CRASH charity and help people who are homeless and children and adults who need hospice care. The event would not be possible without support from Media partner Building and NewWave Events expert organisation and enthusiasm to deliver an afternoon to remember. We are hugely grateful to Lucy, Alicja and the team for ensuring everyone had a memorable day.’’
