Meet the (mostly) new CRASH team

This year, we have seen some big and exciting changes at CRASH, including the appointment of our new Chief Executive, Trisha Pickersgill, in May. We have five new members in post and we’d like to introduce you to the whole CRASH team, old and new.

Trisha Pickersgill, Chief Executive

Trisha has 18 years of experience in hospice management and care, having held several senior roles at Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, most recently as Director of Business Development, Operations, and Performance. Trisha has a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of hospice management, including income generation and clinical service delivery.

She has seen firsthand how invaluable CRASH and our Corporate Patrons’ work is to the charity sector, which does not have access to the specialist skills that CRASH and its network of Patrons and supporters can provide. She admires how much CRASH achieves with such a small, dedicated team. Trisha hopes that CRASH can continue to go from strength to strength, supporting homelessness and hospice building projects long into the future.

Christian Muehl, Finance Manager

Christian joined CRASH in 2016 as the charity’s Finance Manager. He is a Qualified Accountant and works part-time for CRASH. Over the past 15 years, Christian gained a wide range of experience in accounting and auditing in the charity sector.

At CRASH, he manages the charity’s finances, from bookkeeping to financial reporting. Outside of work, Christian enjoys cycling and the Argentine Tango.

Michael Allen, Corporate Partnerships Manager

Mike worked in the commercial sector for most of his career, in management and company ownership, before deciding to enter the charity sector six years ago.

Mike joined CRASH in June 2024 to enhance our fundraising opportunities and build long-term, true partnerships with our Corporate Patrons and supporters. He is the account manager for our relationships with supporters and brings true value to these partnerships for all parties.

Vipesh Mistry, Projects Manager

Vipesh, who has a background in mechanical engineering, has been in the construction industry for over 26 years. He has tackled all sorts of projects, from 55-story buildings in Dubai to refurbishing boiler rooms in schools. He is seconded from AECOM, where he spent more than ten years, and just celebrated his first anniversary at CRASH—complete with cake!

Vipesh is the Project Manager at CRASH and works with the assistant projects manager, Ruth, to manage everything related to our projects. This includes reviewing charity applications and visiting project sites across the country. They reach out to our network of Corporate Patrons and supporters to see if they can lend their expertise to help construct places that care for people, utilising their vast experience and generous donations of construction products.

Ruth Marsden, Assistant Projects Manager

Ruth joined CRASH in May 2024 as an Assistant Projects Manager on secondment from Corporate Patron BAM. She is a civil engineer by background, graduating from the University of Surrey with MEng Civil Engineering in 2020. She has worked for BAM since graduation, completing a two-year graduate scheme that gave her experience ranging from tender reviews to strategy implementation. Before joining CRASH, Ruth worked as a Completions and Handover Manager on the High Speed 2 rail project.

Alongside CRASH, Ruth chairs one of BAM’s Inclusion Networks (Future BAM), is heavily involved with various volunteer roles at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), sits on the Young Professionals in Construction (YPiC) London committee, and is studying for an MSc in Management and Leadership at Cranfield University. With the little time she has left, Ruth volunteers at a local Brownies group and enjoys cooking new recipes.

Hannah Miller, Communications and Events Manager

Having graduated from university with a degree in Psychology, Hannah began her career in construction recruitment before making her way to BAM in the Marketing and Communications team. She joined CRASH in October 2021 after the secondment opportunity was advertised at BAM. She relished the opportunity to develop, grow, and experience the industry from a different perspective, as well as meet and get to know more of the fantastic people in the construction industry.

During her time at CRASH, Hannah has enjoyed visiting CRASH projects. What she found most poignant was how willing people were to share their stories of homelessness and their admiration of CRASH. Although CRASH isn’t a service provider to people, you only need to visit one CRASH project to know how our involvement – creating and developing the spaces they need – really does make a huge impact on a person’s life.

Eloise Murphy, Charity Support Assistant

Eloise joined CRASH in September 2023 as the Charity Support Assistant. Her role is within the fundraising team, supporting various fundraising events in aid of CRASH and assisting with the organisation and smooth running of awards evenings that we attend as the charity partner. Eloise works closely with our Corporate Partnerships Manager, Mike, and aims to build and maintain relationships with existing Patrons and supporters and engage with potential new ones. She has loved her time at CRASH and enjoys working with such a small and dynamic team.

Another important part of her role is supporting all our participants taking part in fundraisers for the charity and promoting the events we have access to through our partnership with Run for Charity. So, if you’re ever interested in taking on a 10K or half marathon, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
