CRASH welcomes new Corporate Patron Pascal & Watson
Taylor Wimpey has been named Corporate Patron of the Month for January, in recognition of their generous donations, incredible support of CRASH’s washbag initiative and donation of oven to Emmaus Merseyside.
Taylor Wimpey have gone above and beyond to support CRASH, with their amazing donation of washbag items across 22 business units last Christmas, alongside a staff survey donation and gifted oven to homelessness charity Emmaus Merseyside – all of which has made a huge difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
CRASH’s washbag initiative aims to support homelessness charities and hospices with essential toiletry items – by pairing our Corporate Patrons with charities local to them so that they can create and donate bags for the people each charity supports at Christmas. Taylor Wimpey supported homelessness charities across their 22 business units with a total of 3,158 washbags worth an incredible £63,160; employees spent weeks collating items such as soap, toothbrushes, socks and hand cream – putting together bags which made a difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness. CRASH is so grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s amazing support through this initiative; we hope that colleagues enjoyed creating the washbags and are proud of the incredible result. These bags were donated to local homelessness charities such as Kairos Community Trust in South London, St Petrock’s in Exeter, Emmaus Merseyside and Edinburgh Cyrenians. Kenward Trust in Kent received over 300 washbags from Taylor Wimpey – dropped off by Santa and the Grinch!
Taylor Wimpey also donated an oven to Emmaus Merseyside, providing vital practical support for the charity and helping both companions and staff to prepare food. Emmaus Merseyside is an award-winning charity that offers a home, individual support, education, training, and work opportunities to people who have experienced homelessness. Their purpose-built community building can house up to 28 Companions (residents) at any one time. Everyone has their own room, as well as access to communal dining, catering, social, exercise, garden, and training facilities. The new oven donated by Taylor Wimpey is perfect for large scale catering and has made a huge difference at the charity.
Additionally, colleagues completed a staff survey with 231 people choosing CRASH, which meant that £5 was donated per person; an amazing £1555 was raised and donated – we are so grateful to everyone who took part and chose CRASH, and to Taylor Wimpey for their donation. This will go towards our vital work with homelessness charities and hospices.
As a Corporate Patron, Taylor Wimpey contributes to CRASH construction projects and unites as a team through various initiatives that underpin our work with homelessness charities and hospices.
“I am really proud of the support we have been able to provide CRASH this year. The washbag campaign captured the hearts, energy and imagination of our employees. The work CRASH do is fantastic and we were delighted to have got involved and help those facing homelessness.”
