The 1-7 June is Volunteers Week and we’re celebrating all things volunteering at CRASH

CRASH is proud to have a network of 37 Corporate Patrons, with fabulous employees who volunteer their time and skills so that we can construct places that care for people. From channelling their professional expertise into a CRASH project to volunteering at a fundraising event – as a small team of five, it really does make a huge difference!

Volunteers Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. This year’s theme is ‘a time to say thanks’, so join us this #VolunteersWeek in recognising the fantastic contribution of our volunteers at CRASH.

“CRASH is profoundly grateful to all of the wonderful employees from our Corporate Patron companies who have volunteered their time to CRASH. The construction and property industry has a whole network of highly skilled people who can share their expertise, time, and knowledge. CRASH simply would not be the charity that it is today without you – so thank you!”

Chief Executive at CRASH

CRASH caught up with two volunteers to find out all about their experience volunteering at CRASH, what motivates them to do it and how they’ve found the process…

“Through Gardiner & Theobald’s patronage of CRASH I was recently given the opportunity to volunteer on a hospice project. This was my first time working with CRASH, so I wasn’t sure what to expect but the team supported me through the process. It was so rewarding to use my professional skills and experience to help such a worthwhile cause. I would highly recommend it.”

Estefania Bonilla

Executive Surveyor at Gardiner and Theobald

“My volunteering for CRASH involves helping the team collect vital donations. As well as volunteering myself, I also act as liaison between CRASH and the Beale & Co team, ensuring that there are always volunteers available at each event. Events over the past year have ranged from lunches and Awards to the CRASH Dragon Boat Challenge. At Beale & Co, volunteering is actively encouraged. Each employee is given a day of volunteering per year to use as we wish. For me, volunteering for CRASH has been a great way to utilise my volunteering time. Not only is the time spent recorded in our CRASH Social Value report (helping to show what the firm is doing to make a difference in the community). I and many other colleagues at Beale & Co have had the pleasure of getting to know the CRASH team and Corporate Patrons and learning more about where the money we help collect actually goes. It has been a privilege to hear about the projects CRASH supports and the work they do for homelessness charities and hospices. I look forward to continuing to volunteer for CRASH and seeing all the future projects that the funds will support.”
