The iconic Pavestone Rally raises a record £212,000 for charity

An amazing 34 teams from across the construction industry took on the ‘adventure of a lifetime’ this September as they joined the Pavestone Rally 2023 in aid of four charities, including CRASH.

Travelling from Ghent to Monte Carlo, teams clocked up miles on some of Europe’s greatest roads in their souped-up cars, taking in the breath-taking views of the Stelvio Pass and the picturesque German town, Neu-Ulm.

In true Rally spirit, teams rocked their very best fancy dress and completed challenges along the way; from musical chairs in the street with passers-by to carpool karaoke, each and every one who took part were dedicated in their fundraising efforts, raising a whopping £212,000 to be distributed equally between the benefitting charities.

Congratulations to Best Fundraising Total winners, Toolbank who raised an incredible £24k and to the Builders Merchant Federation who came a close second with £23.3k. RGB Building Supplies scooped up the award for Best Fundraising Effort while Palladium, Crest Brick Slate & Tile, Talesly and two Pavestone teams clocked up over £10,000 – wow!

CRASH’s Francesca Roberts and Hannah Miller waved teams across the finish line with a custom CRASH chequered flag before a final night of celebrations and presenting awards to recognise fundraising achievements and challenge winners.

A special congratulations to…

Sponsored challenges:

  • Best K-Rend Carpool Karaoke: 1st – Its not about the points, 2nd – Palladium, 3rd BMF
  • Best Fakro ‘Turtle of Tour’ Photo: Palladium
  • Burg Wachter ‘Padlock’ Challenge: BMF
  • Circulayo ‘Climate Change’ Challenge: Its not about the points

The donations raised from the Pavestone Rally will help CRASH to construct places that care for people who are homeless and children and adults receiving hospice care.

Pavestone will offset the carbon emissions produced from the Rally and have pledged to plant 1,500 trees – enough to off-set the emissions from this year’s Rally as well as the two previous ones!

Let’s catch up with those who took part…

“The 2023 Pavestone Rally was a huge success, a fantastic way to support four great charities, as well as networking with our fellow industry members. The highlight of the event for me was the significant amount of money we were all able to raise. Genuit Group are a proud Patron of CRASH, and we are delighted that a proportion of the donations raised will support CRASH with their hospice and homelessness projects all over the UK. A close second would be wondering around the prestigious Monte Carlo Casino dressed as pirates!”

“The rally has created a family of all the contestants ranging from those who do it biennially to those doing it as a one off. ..The effort some of the teams go to in decorating their cars and fancy dress is amazing. My memories of the Rally are the view from the top of the Stelvios Pass and congratulating a table of four at breakfast on the last day for their efforts at dressing up as pilots to find that they were actual pilots from NetJets!”

Paul Woolway

Business Development Manager at NMBS

“CRASH was delighted to be chosen as one of the benefitting charities for this iconic event. Fundraising over £200,000 is no easy task, and this remarkable result is a testament to the event organisers for putting on such a fantastic Rally, the sponsors for their help, and of course the wonderful teams who took part – coming up with unique ways to fundraise for their industry charity. Thank you for raising vital donations for CRASH and helping to construct places that care for people who are homeless and those who need hospice care.”
