Turning lemons into lemonade: Considerate Constructors Scheme Award winners raise over £12,000 for CRASH charity

CRASH received a donation of over £12,000 when CCS National Site Award winners came together in an effort to give back.

When the ceremonies for the 2020 Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards were unfortunately cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many award winners who planned to attend the ceremonies chose to donate the value of their ceremony ticket to CRASH.

The donations made from the contributing organisations totalled over £12,000 and will enable CRASH to continue supporting homelessness charities and hospices with their building projects, in a time where those who are vulnerable are most in need.

CRASH extends a huge thank you to the award-winning projects who chose to donate the value of their ticket, helping CRASH create places that care for vulnerable people.

“It’s fantastic that a number of the organisations who were due to attend our National Site Awards turned the unfortunate circumstances of the ceremonies being cancelled into something completely positive. The work that CRASH does to create caring environments for people when they are at their most vulnerable is truly admirable. The organisations involved with the CRASH projects are leaving a positive impact on the communities they are working in which will remain far beyond the construction phase. The Considerate Constructors Scheme is proud to support the work that CRASH does.”

“CRASH charity is sincerely grateful to the Considerate Constructors Scheme and all the organisations who so generously donated the value of their tickets to CRASH. Their generosity, in a year when CRASH was badly affected by the pandemic, meant we could continue our vital work to create and construct places that care for people. Their thoughtful action allowed us to continue to help many people who have been homeless and children and adults who need end of life care in a hospice. Everyone involved can be proud of what they’ve made possible.”
