Fundraising Ideas to Help CRASH from Home

Fundraising is a great way to connect and engage your team and for your company to do something collectively to help your industry charity, CRASH.  We’re asking construction companies and individuals to help us now with company and individual fundraising initiatives so that we can continue our vital work.

There are many ways to come together, have fun and fundraise from home via Zoom, social media and online – while following current government guidelines for social distancing. We’ve put together some ideas to inspire you.

Give in Celebration

Whether it’s Valentine’s Day, Easter or a birthday, dedicate the occasion to support vulnerable people. What about an online raffle to win a bunch of flowers, a case of wine or an Easter egg? Or kindly ask for donations instead of gifts.

Let me entertain you!

Gin masterclass or a wine tasting

Have a fun and informative Zoom session with your team and fundraise for CRASH at the same time. Either host your own virtual wine tasting by enlisting a self proclaimed connoisseur to lead or choose a company like Unwined who offer corporate zoom tastings.

Quiz or University Challenge

Organise an interdepartmental challenge to see who comes out victorious. Choose a theme, a host and the teams. Ask colleagues to donate to participate and off you go, can sales beat marketing to be crowned the Champions of 2020?

Concert

If you know of any talented musicians at your company get them to host an online show. Ask attendees to buy a ticket or add a donate button to fundraise for CRASH.

Learn something new or level up a skill

Cooking masterclass or Fakeaway

Learn to cook or bake something special or maybe your favourite takeaway meal. Either work with internal culinary talent or enlist a professional to guide you.

Skill Share or Lunch & Learn

Learn something new from a colleague. It could be something professional like Finance for non-Finance managers, a craft skill like macramé or something for the soul like mastering the art of looking after house plants.

Move your body

DIY Remote Run

Have you heard about the French man running a marathon on his balcony? If there’s a will, there’s a way. Organise a virtual “together apart” fun run. Decide on the goal: is it a 5k, 10k or is it a half-marathon? Set up an online fundraising page to collect sponsorship in aid of CRASH.

Team challenge

Organise a virtual walk or step challenge and pledge to cover the distance from John O’Groats to Lands End or a route that is significant to you. A walking challenge where all participants contribute to the total distance is the perfect way to get your team moving and focus on health & wellbeing whilst supporting your industry charity.

Easy as pie

Donate 15% of your commute spend

One of the benefits of working from home is not spending time and money commuting. Why not ask colleagues to donate a percentage of their unspent commute budget.

Donate the cost of a coffee

Whether your order is a flat white, espresso or a croissant too, donate the cost to CRASH. Your donations will enable us to continue our vital work – giving hope to homeless people and dignity to people in hospices.

Make it social and arrange a virtual catch up with some colleagues and enjoy a home-made coffee together and donate the cost.

Penalty Pot

Maybe you’ve noticed some bad habits since working from home. Don’t worry, it happens! Why not set up a up a Penalty Pot to break those habits once and for all whilst raising money for a good cause. Just like a swear jar, each time you slip up, put a coin in the jar.

Once your pot is full and you’ve kicked the habit, you can make your donation to CRASH.
