Progress at Severn Hospice

This important project at Severn Hospice will extend The Perry Ward, creating more space and comfort for patients and families. Planned works also include improvements to the patio area, ensuring a brighter and more welcoming environment.

Project Kick-Off

Back in April 2025, the CRASH team visited Severn Hospice alongside our Corporate Patrons, Bauder Flat Roofs and MiTek, as part of the CRASH application visit to assess the scope of works. MiTek later carried out a detailed survey and provided expert advice on the existing roof trusses – guidance that has been invaluable in moving the project forward.

Work Underway

Construction was well underway, with our CRASH Corporate Patrons playing a vital role in bringing the project to life. The first delivery of bricks for the extension from Huws Gray arrived on site in July, marking their first supported CRASH project. These bricks have been steadily rising and defining the shape of this much-needed space. Kingspan Insulation provided the Kooltherm insulation for the roof, creating a warm, efficient, and comfortable environment inside the building. British Gypsum supplied all the drywall need to form the new rooms within the expanded Perry Ward.

A huge thank you to Lisa Conway from Kingspan for visiting the site and capturing fantastic photos and video footage of the ongoing building works.

Next Steps

Marshalls is supporting with building materials including paving slabs or outside the building. These will help form, the garden area in front of the patient ward, where patients can go with their families to relax and get fresh air.

This project is a powerful example of collaboration. Together, we’re helping Severn Hospice provide care, compassion, and dignity when it’s needed most.
