Everyone Deserves a Decent Place to Live…

The overall well being of the service users at Equinox Stanley Road has been given a huge boost thanks to major refurbishment work.

The need

The interior of the house was in need of complete refurbishment – the charity reached out to CRASH for support.

The solution

Thanks to a £10,000 grant from CRASH, new flooring has been laid throughout and upgrades made to the bathroom and kitchen.

The social impact

The work has also impacted positively on the residents’ self-esteem not least because they are actively involved in decision making.

Equinox Brighton house provides a safe and peaceful space for men with a history of homelessness and alcohol dependence. With support from the on-site Equinox housing worker, residents work towards sustainable recovery and independent living.

Their own service users have coined the term “forgotten people” to describe the section of the population that they are providing support to, in their thousands, each year.
