The Future’s Brighter at Kairos Thanks to RedSky IT Community Challenge

A team of volunteers from CRASH patron partner RedSky IT swapped their computers and keyboards for sandpaper and paint brushes to take on a colourful community challenge.

How patrons helped

The group of seven, including Sales and Marketing Director Mike Voyce, travelled from various RedSky IT locations throughout the country to South London to give a Kairos Community Trust home a much needed makeover.

Kairos Community Trust provides accommodation, help and support for homeless people with substance misuse related problems.

Erroll, Bryan, Paul, Steve, Tobit, Charlotte and Mike all turned up in their best work gear and spent the day preparing and painting the entrance hall and dining area and soon had the job in hand. A generous donation of paint from K&M McLoughlin Decorating meant that the results were outstanding.

The social impact

“The RedSky IT team worked extremely hard and did a wonderful job. Members of the team had come from as far away as Preston and at 5:30pm were faced with a four hour return journey home.”

Mossie Lyons

Director at Kairos

“After a lunchtime fuel break of South London’s finest Fish ‘n Chips whilst the undercoat dried, we returned to complete the task and we managed to get more done that originally planned. We all enjoyed helping spruce up the home and it was good to get to meet some of the residents and get their positive feedback on how better the place looked. We look forward to the next challenge from CRASH”

“We support CRASH and all of the charities it in turn assists because we believe CRASH excel at the management and organization of these challenges. Companies and individuals can go home at the end of the day knowing that however small the donation of time or materials, real differences have been made. This isn’t just about maintaining your CSR but giving something back for the ultimate feel good factor.”
