Children’s Hospice can now help more children and their families
CRASH helps Greenwich & Bexley Hospice create new kitchen
CRASH is thrilled to announce the completion of a new kitchen at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, providing meals to patients, thanks to the generosity of CRASH Patrons.
The hospice provide specialist palliative care to people who have a terminal illness, along with facilities for their families and carers. The charity applied to CRASH to help create a much needed new kitchen as the existing facility was more than 21 years old and frequently unreliable and inefficient.
Brian, the chef at the hospice said to CRASH Chief Executive, Francesca Roberts, how important it is to provide meals to people who are very ill and that there are many foods they can’t eat. He explained that he might be cooking the last meal someone tastes so he always wants to make each meal the best it could possibly be. Brian is completely committed to this important part of caring for people at the end of their lives.

The Impact
‘‘Our new kitchen has become the heart of the hospice, a place that is a pleasure to work in; a modern, bright and positive place delivering great food to each of our in-patients in their wards, a wonderful hearty lunch to our day hospice users, and drinks and food for staff and the families visiting those in the hospice. We cannot thank CRASH enough for helping with this project.’’
